about us

MBI (Mission Builders International) is the volunteer placement branch of Youth With A Mission (YWAM). We serve YWAM ministries worldwide by sending practical, hands-on help.

MBI connects Christian volunteers like you with YWAM missionaries working to provide health, education, and economic opportunities for people in need.

Whatever your skills or calling, MBI can assist in coordinating a short-term service trip to get you where you’re needed most. You could be the answer to someone’s prayers today.

MBI does not charge for its services to the mission, missionary or you, the volunteer. Friends like you can help MBI connect Christians to frontline missions through financial gifts. We can do what we do because of you!

Worldwide Network

We offer a growing number of global YWAM partner locations for you to choose from, whether you are a first-time or a veteran volunteer.

TESTIMONIALS

“Absolutely incredible, this program is definitely about relationship with God and others around the world. I was unsure what this experience would hold for me—it held challenge, adventure, discovery, gaining a new family. I got to be a servant of the Lord by cleaning around the base, helping cook meals for 120+ people, doing children’s ministry, delivering basic necessities to the homeless, delivering Bibles, praying for people and learning about cultures from around the world. I learned so much more about God, myself and other people—more than I could ever learn in a classroom.”

“Living this past 25 years in Asia, I have seen the great need for mission support, not just financial, but more importantly through having supporters come physically alongside and get involved. The mission field can, at times, be lonely and daunting, but having witnessed how effective MBI is in helping relieve those stresses (not just by sending teams to help with projects, but also simply by having supporters help with day-to-day chores), I believe they have proved themselves to be a caring and professional ministry that is first amongst equals.”

“YWAM Chatel was a beautiful place to volunteer. It was our experience to be with people from 15 different nations who made us feel like family! The tasks we were assigned made our days go so quickly. The staff and students in this location were so well connected, making it an interesting mix of people. The availability and experience of going to a bilingual church was very interesting. This was truly a summer to remember and to be placed in the top ten experiences of our year.
